Let’s settle something that anime fans somehow keep arguing about: if Goku fought Gojo, Goku would wipe the floor with him.
Gojo is absurdly powerful within Jujutsu Kaisen. Infinity makes him incredibly difficult to touch, Unlimited Void can overwhelm an opponent with information, and techniques like Hollow Purple give him serious destructive power. Against almost anyone in his own universe, Gojo is a nightmare matchup.
The problem is that Goku operates on a completely different scale.
By Dragon Ball Super, Goku is fighting opponents whose battles threaten worlds, dimensions, and potentially entire universes. His speed, strength, durability, and raw energy output have escalated so far beyond normal human measurements that comparing his physical stats with Gojo’s is almost pointless. Gojo can be incredibly fast by Jujutsu Kaisen standards while still being completely outclassed by the ridiculous speeds routinely reached by high-level Dragon Ball characters.
The main argument for Gojo is obviously Infinity. If Goku cannot physically reach him, does any of Goku’s overwhelming strength actually matter?
That is where the debate becomes more interesting. Infinity is not simply a magical shield with infinite durability. It manipulates the space between Gojo and incoming threats so that something approaching him slows down and effectively never reaches him. Goku therefore cannot necessarily solve the problem by saying, “I punch harder.”
But Goku has dealt with increasingly bizarre abilities throughout Dragon Ball, including techniques involving dimensions, time, energy manipulation, teleportation, and space itself. Dragon Ball also has a long tradition of sufficiently powerful characters overpowering or circumventing abilities that would otherwise seem impossible to deal with. Whether that specifically means Goku could bypass Infinity depends heavily on how you decide the rules of the two fictional universes interact.
Even if you give Gojo every reasonable advantage, however, he still has another enormous problem: actually defeating Goku.
Hollow Purple is devastating in Gojo’s world, but Goku has survived attacks on a vastly greater destructive scale. Unlimited Void is potentially more interesting because it attacks the opponent in a way that is not simply about physical durability. If Gojo successfully caught Goku inside his Domain Expansion, you could at least construct an argument that Goku would be vulnerable to its information overload.
But getting Goku into that position before Goku ends the fight is another question entirely.
The speed difference is brutal. Goku fights at speeds where Gojo realistically should not have enough time to execute a complicated strategy before Goku has already acted. Ultra Instinct makes the situation even worse because Goku’s body can respond to threats automatically rather than relying entirely on conscious thought.
There is also Instant Transmission. Goku can teleport rather than simply travel conventionally through the space separating two locations. Whether that bypasses Infinity directly is debatable, but it gives him yet another tool Gojo would have to account for while fighting someone who already massively outclasses him physically.
And this is before considering Goku’s ranged attacks.
A fight does not necessarily require Goku to walk up to Gojo and punch him in the face. Goku has enormous energy attacks, teleportation, shockwaves, transformations, and decades of combat experience against opponents with unusual techniques. Gojo’s entire strategy would depend on his special abilities compensating for a gigantic difference in raw statistics.
That is ultimately why this matchup is so lopsided.
Gojo is one of the strongest characters in a universe where his abilities make him almost untouchable.
Goku comes from a universe where the power scaling became completely insane decades ago and then simply kept going.
If you equalized their physical stats, the fight would become genuinely fascinating. Gojo’s technique and Domain Expansion could create serious problems, while Goku’s combat instincts and enormous arsenal would give him plenty of answers.
But with their actual power levels?
Gojo would need Infinity to keep him alive.
Goku would need to figure out Infinity.
And once he did, the fight would be over.
Gojo is incredibly cool.
Goku is just playing a completely different game.
